LOVE AT FIRST BITE

From Lovely's chocolate cupboard

You'll need

  • 2 cups (340 g) milk, dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/3 cup lightly crushed pretzels
  • 2 tablespoons Valentine sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons white chocolate chips, optional for drizzling

Use what you've got

  • Use dried cranberries or freeze-dried strawberries in place of marshmallows or sprinkles.

Aprons on

Let's make it

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and gather all the toppings before melting the chocolate.

  2. Ask a grown-up to melt the 2 cups of chocolate until smooth.

  3. Pour the chocolate onto the parchment and spread it into an even rectangle about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick.

  4. Scatter over the marshmallows, pretzels and sprinkles. Press them very gently into the surface.

  5. If using the white chocolate, ask a grown-up to melt it and drizzle it across the bark.

  6. Chill for 30 minutes, or until completely firm. A grown-up breaks or cuts the bark into about 16 pieces. Store it in a cool place.

Cooking options

๐Ÿ“ก Microwave โ€” Ginger's Speedy Method

A grown-up heats the chocolate in a dry microwave-safe bowl on medium in 20-second bursts, stirring well after each burst.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Stovetop โ€” Ginger's Main Method

A grown-up melts the chocolate in a dry heatproof bowl over barely simmering water, stirring gently until smooth.
