π² POPSICLE STICK CHRISTMAS TREE
The respectable one
Straight lines. Tidy layers. The tree you show the grown-ups first.
Craft sticks stacked longest to shortest make a neat little Christmas tree that stands on a shelf or hangs on the real tree. Justin approves of anything made of wood.

GROWN-UP HELP
Recommended
What you'll need
- Craft / popsicle sticksAbout 6β8
- Child-safe craft glue
- Green paint or markersOptional
- Paper or cardboard baseAny sturdy card works
- Pom-poms, stickers or sequinsFor ornaments
- Star topperOptional β card or a sticker
- String or ribbonOptional β turns it into an ornament
Build it
- 1Colour or paint 5β7 craft sticks green and leave them to dry.
- 2With a grown-up, trim the sticks so each one is a little shorter than the last β longest at the bottom, shortest at the top.
- 3Lay the sticks on your cardboard base in a triangle shape, longest at the bottom, with a small gap between each row.
- 4Glue each stick down one row at a time and press gently.
- 5Glue one uncoloured stick under the bottom row as the trunk.
- 6Add a star at the top, then stick on pom-poms, sequins or stickers as ornaments.
- 7Let it dry flat for about 10 minutes. If you want to hang it, glue a loop of string to the back and let that dry too.
Grown-up help, please
Trimming craft sticks is a grown-up job β they can splinter. Child-safe glue is lovely, but it doesn't make the whole craft a solo mission. Work on a covered table and let everything dry before it goes near the real tree.
