Lovely × Peppermint

From Lovely's chocolate cupboard

You'll need

  • 1 1/2 cups (255 g) milk, dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 tablespoons white chocolate chips, optional
  • 1 tablespoon finely crushed candy cane or peppermint candy, optional

Aprons on

Let's make it

  1. Set a clean, completely dry silicone heart mould on a firm tray.

  2. Ask a grown-up to melt the darker chocolate. Stir in the peppermint extract one drop at a time until evenly mixed.

  3. Spoon the chocolate into the heart moulds. Tap the tray gently on the counter to release air bubbles.

  4. If using white chocolate, ask a grown-up to melt it and drizzle a little over each heart. Add a tiny pinch of crushed peppermint.

  5. Chill for 25–30 minutes, until firm. Gently pop the hearts out of the mould and store them in a cool place.

Cooking options

📡 Microwave — Ginger's Speedy Method

A grown-up melts each chocolate separately in a dry microwave-safe bowl on medium in 20-second bursts, stirring after every burst.

🔥 Stovetop — Ginger's Main Method

A grown-up melts each chocolate separately in a dry heatproof bowl over barely simmering water.
